About the Painting:
This beautiful blue poppy painting was painted from a reference photo I took. My photo of the rare blue poppy was taken at Longwood Gardens, in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. I was able to visit and see the blooming of their rare blue poppies. What a sight it was to see a whole row of bright blue poppies in full bloom, and hundreds of photographers waiting in line to get their chance to photograph these beauties! I've included my reference photo in one of the photos for you to see.
I decided to tightly focus on the bloom of the flower because honestly it's the best part of the plant :) I used blues, purples, whites, yellows and greens for this painting. I decided to add a bit of green in the background and lots of yellow to contrast the blue petals. This was a fun painting to paint! Enjoy!
