About the painting:
I love watching the lily pads spread across a nearby pond over the summer months. You can see the water lily buds rising up through the water to the surface. The ugly green buds open up into the most wonderful pink flowers with orange and yellow centers. I love painting the pop of colors nestled in the dark greens and blues of the lily pads and water.
