About the painting:
I love the way light hits twisted satin ribbon, creating contrasting shadows and bright reflections. I drew out long lines of ribbons, twisting them together as if they got tangled and you were trying to undo the strands.

The black background helped make the lighter grays and white reflections show brighter. I used an orange-red for one of the ribbons because I like the look of monochromatic grays & black with the pops of red and orange.

While I thought this painting looked like twisting ribbon, other people thought it look more like dna strands. What do you see in this painting?
