About the Painting:
I love to watch the fall leaves swirling in the wind in the sky. I wanted to capture the feel of the wind picking up and swirling the leaves. Others who view the painting see the swirls of wind blown water pushing leaves across a pond. What do you see in this painting?

I used a palette knife with acrylic paint and a thick gel medium to create the 3D swirls to minic the movement of the wind on a windy day. Navy blues and black paint are brushed into the crevices of the swirls to create the shadows. A light brushing of white paint to emphasize the lightness of the wind gusts. Real leaves collected on my walks were brushed with an acrylic sealer and adhered along the gusts on the canvas. The leaves are sealed with 4 layers of sealer and the entire painting is brushed with layers of acrylic sealer to protect the painting.
